Ranplan releases the World’s first heterogeneous wireless planning tool supporting 5G
Cambridge, UK, 8th October 2018– Ranplan Wireless, provider of the industry only in-building and outdoor wireless planning and optimisation software solution, announces the release of the Ranplan Professional 5.2, offering key functionality to support 5G New Radio (NR).
These new 5G NR capabilities allow the telecommunication industry to efficiently plan, design and optimise the next generation of mobile networks, supporting the key features of 5G NR specified in 3GPP Rel 15 for both non-standalone (NSA) and standalone (SA) deployment modes and all foreseen 5G frequency bands from 700MHz to 100GHz.
Building upon the solution’s existing abilities to address MIMO, Ranplan Professional 5.2 has enhanced support for massive MIMO and true 3D beamforming both key for optimising spectrum efficiency to deliver eMBB services such as VR/AR. This latest version of Professional offers RF designers the ability to simulate all possible MIMO variants for both 5G and LTE-Advanced across the full Heterogeneous network.
