Cambridge UK, 4 February 2019 – Ranplan Wireless has secured a significant order with an initial value of USD 2.5 million (SEK 22.5 million) for its suite of network planning tools from Marubun Corporation, its reselling partner in Japan, for deployment by an ambitious mobile operator. Revenue is expected to be recognised during 2019.

Japan is poised to become one of the first countries to leverage the next generation of wireless networks with the roll out of 5G on an industrial scale. The transformation to 5G will bring many benefits to Japan’s economy over the following years and by taking advantage of a tool such as Ranplan Professional to thoroughly plan and design indoor and outdoor networks in coordination in highly dense areas operators will be able to ensure that end-users enjoy reliable, ubiquitous connectivity and maximum quality of service.
Designing and planning 5G networks presents a variety of technical challenges, particularly in the higher frequency bands which will be made available for 5G services in the coming years. Customers using Ranplan’s suite of software tools can typically reduce the cost of deploying the next generation of radio networks by up to 30%.
